How to get a dragon pickaxe as an RS3 Ironman
How an RS3 Ironman gets a dragon pickaxe from Chaos Giants and the Chaos Dwarf Battlefield, why an Orikalkum pickaxe + 3 matches it, and what it upgrades into.

Short answer
For mining: You do not need one: the Orikalkum pickaxe + 3 (60 Smithing) has exactly the same stats and Mining requirement.
For upgrades: A dragon pickaxe is needed for the Imcando and crystal pickaxes. The best source is Chaos Giants after Birthright of the Dwarves, at 1/1,000.
Luck: Tier 3 luck (Ring of Fortune, Luck of the Dwarves) improves the Chaos Giant rate to 1/970.

Ironman tips
- Imcando pickaxe: gild the dragon pickaxe, collect four fragments from lava geysers in the Lava Flow Mine, then bring them, 1,000,000 coins and a redberry pie to Thurgo. It needs 80 Mining.
- Lady Ithell in Prifddinas turns a dragon pickaxe into a crystal pickaxe for 4,000 harmonic dust.
- The quests only unlock the monsters; you do not need them to use the pickaxe.
