How to get pure essence as an RS3 Ironman
Where an RS3 Ironman gets pure essence: the Rune Memories rune chest, mining it at 30 Mining, Wizard Cromperty with an Ardougne cloak, and noted drops from demons and Wizards' Tower mages.

Short answer
First: Finish Rune Memories. The rune chest in the Wizards' Tower then gives 5 × your Runecrafting level in essence every level, 30,525 in total by 110.
Any level: Mine it in the Rune essence mine from 30 Mining, and collect the weekly 700 (Ardougne cloak 2) or 1,050 (cloak 3) from Wizard Cromperty.
Combat: Greater demons drop 54–66 noted, abyssal savages 100–140 noted, and the Giant Mole 600 noted.

Ironman tips
- There is no benefit to waiting: the rune chest total is the same whenever you take it.
- The wicked hood stopped giving free daily essence in the DailyScape Overhaul (March 2026).
- Pure essence also becomes impure essence for Necromantic runes, so stock more than Runecrafting alone needs.
